Out for an afternoon drive.

Sunday, February 27, 2011

We took about 40 miles of Blue Ridge Parkway on the way home. It was better than I remembered. Probably the best stretch of road I have ever driven on. The access roads to and from the parkway make the Big Moose Rd seem straight. One stretch of the parkway the compass on the dash of the Pilot showed all four directions in less than a mile stretch.

Car Museum near Hershey, PA. Had a collection of 18 Shelby cars. Including 7 GT350 Mustangs and 2 Cobras. VERY nice museum with a great variety of cars, motorcycles and buses. I was most impressed by the 1896 Ford (pictured).

Paul recently found this sketch comedy duo named Harry and Paul. I found that they have a couple skits entitled "Bad Uncle Paul," which Paul would like for me to share with you now. :)

Elliot got his hands on the camera when I was writing the last post.

Elliot is standing on the ground in these photos. He is 35" tall. I can't remember when we had this much snow at one time.

This past Sunday, I participated in the Miami ING Half-Marathon (13.1 miles). I completed it in 2 hours 4 minutes, my personal goal was to be under 2 hours, but due to congestion (21,000+ participants) I didn't quite make it... the first mile took me almost 12 minutes so I had to play catch up to get near my planned 9 minute average mile. Regardless, I still got a win shot.

Spent some time with Oliver today. We worked on turning for a bit. How to move his body to the inside of the turn. Also the use of the throttle and brake. There is a 20 foot banked turn next to the garage. It is like Bristol for snowmobiles. With the natural embankment and the snow I shoveled off the off.
