Last weekend I went to the Mets-Marlins game on Thursday night, and watched the Mets let the Marlins come back to beat them in the 10th inning. Friday night I went to the Tigers-Royals game in Detroit. Saturday I went to Penn State-Michigan in Ann Arbor. The attendance was over 111,000 at Michigan Stadium. Michigan beat then 10th ranked Penn State. I made the trip with 3 friends from Florida who wanted to see a Big Ten conference game for a change, since Florida was playing away that weekend. We spent the entire weekend either tailgating, attending sporting events or watching sporting events in sports bars. The weather in Michigan was perfect all weekend for us.
No, I have no issue with Cal moving ahead of Florida in the polls, I pull for Michigan, but I don't think it will take long for Florida to move back into the top 5.

The Horror!
Last night we returned from Maine, after having a wonderful time visiting our excellent, best ever grandchildren (New England Division), going to the beach, eating lobster and seeing the Frank Lloyd Wright exhibit at the Portland Museum of Art.
The Horror! Oh yeah, We returned home to discover that our yard had been devastated by trespassing deer. They apparently don't like tomatoes and geraniums, but they ate the hollyhocks and parsley.

Groundhog in a tree.
Groundhog is a tree.
Found some stuff in the root cellar. It looks like a lot of people lost their stuff down there. If this is yours please let me know. Taillight for a finned vehicle.
Canada Dry "The Champagne of Ginger Ales," no relation to Miller High Life. Full, 7 oz.
Vintage long time ago wine from the Finger Lakes region. 3/4 full, Cyndy was thirsty.

Here are the new tires on the EVO. Falken Azenis RT-625 245/45-17. They look like they should be good on clearance. I haven't had a chance to drive the car yet. The only place I might be concerned about is the rear fender. It can't be any different than a car with stock tires and lowered springs. They are a little taller and wider.

Sam Hornish will be at New Hampshire this weekend. Chris and Jonathan should go over and say Hi. Boris Said will be there too.
The entry list for Petit is up. Not quite as apectacular as I was hoping. No Astons. three P1 cars and the Maserati. So much for all the speculation. At least three of the four classes will have good car counts.

Champ Car will be at Laguna Seca next year, in place of San Jose. Good.
Servia is being replaced with David Martinez for the last two races. Bad. Both drivers should have full time rides.
IRL is eliminating prize money and instead giving out free engines and tires (which before this year were free for most teams anyway). Does Chris Pook work for the IRL?
Zanardi will be testing in a PKV car at Sebring during the gap before Australia. He's a little mad at the WTCC guys at the moment http://www.alex-zanardi.com/ .
The F1 title will be determined tomorrow in Paris. Paul Stoddart chimed in on the subject http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpass_news_item.php?fes_art_id=32733 .

Thanks to Chrysler and the University of Michigan Engineering department, Emily and I enjoyed deluxe accommodations for Saturday’s ALMS Detroit Sports Car Challenge. Included with our Chrysler Chalet tent was breakfast, a lunch buffet highlighted by sausage and peppers, shish kabob, shrimp kabob, salmon and cheesecake, also included were afternoon snakes and beverages all day long.
Sunday we decided to make the drive to Chicago. Sears Tower… followed by a bbq with Emily’s sister and Med students.
On Saturday Kate and Christine went to Freeport. Chris and I took the kids to a "machinery" museum near Boothbay Harbor. It was great. They had a real narrow gauge (Paul's favorite gauge) steam train and a great auto museum. This Lotus raced in the Mille Migle. Saturday night the boys went to Beech Ridge. The racing was very good. It was also autograph night.
