Week 2

I have been busy keeping Silas entertained during the day.

UP diesel shops in Roseville:

Rotary snowplow built by ALCO in Schenectady in 1917. Originally, 63(?) were built by Cooke Locomotive & Machine Works and then the rights were sold to ALCO who built 71 more. This one was converted to electric in 1966 and taken out of service in the 1980s. There were three more parked by the diesel shops:

Silas in the cockpit of a Douglas C54-D (or is it a C53-D? I didn't keep good notes) at the Aerospace Museum of California:

Lunch at Wright's Lake in the Sierras:

We found a beach with really shallow, warm water that Silas loved.

For some reason, at the end of the day we are all tired.

I know someone will commet about a lack of pictures of Florence, so here:

California State Railroad Museum

I got back from the railroad museum last week and commented that there locomotives and cars don't really change. But today there is a 1908 ALCO built in Schenectady that wasn't here last week.

Camp Wakpominee

Oliver survived a week at Boy Scout camp. He had lots of fun and really enjoyed everything. He earned merit badges for swimming, fishing and pioneering?
