Amazing! Google has a voting site locater for the entire country. Type in your address and it tells you where to go vote. It even got ours right and our mailing address is in a different county than where we reside and vote.

We went on an adverture on sunday. I stood on the field for the first time. Stood on the pitcher's mound. Thought about what could have been. Think about just some of the players that played here. Ron Guidry, Derek Jeter, Bernie Williams, Deion Sanders, Manny Ramirez, and so many more. The place is all but forgotten about.

Sunday we took part in the annual ritual of pumpkin carving. Cameron and Oliver had a great time, Elliot watched. We also found out the Oliver doesn't fit in a pumpkin. . . but Elliot does!

mother and son after the shower
We went for a natural and cultural history boat tour of the Sacramento River delta over the weekend. It is a somewhat odd inland delta that has been levied to create islands for farming, that are now all below sea level.

This is what an abandoned island with the remnants of a levee looks like:

Since much of the delta has little over sight, stuff gets abandoned there, like this old fishing boat:

Happy birthday, Jen. I didn't know you were so interested in wind turbines. Maple Ridge Wind Farm has about 200 hundred in Lowville. It is quite a site.

Yesterday, we drove down to meet Elliot. He's a beauty and resting quietly- must want to be ready to go home and start entertaining the family.

According to the Wall Street Journal, only 7 percent of adults have done any sewing in the last 6 months- even counting buttons. How can that be?

I am disappointed with Red Bull racing. They are using AJA as a scapegoat for the teams poor performance. He has performed as good as or better than many more experienced drivers and teams (all of Michael Waltrip racing). His replacement has been given the time to develop for the last two years in other stock car based series. AJA debuted in the Winston Cup series with a new car in a new team at Daytona. I don't know how a team can release driver on tuesday with a 9th place finish on sunday. I hope AJA will run an open wheel or sports car series next season and show Red Bull He has more driving talent than most of Nascar.
