I got an email from Lime Rock park. They are doing a special promotion with Ricky Carmichael at the Nascar East event coming up. They are doing a "Fan Zone" area where you can meet Ricky Carmichael. The cost is $35 for the admission to the race(kids under 12 free). Plus $65 to have access to the "Fan Zone" and meeet Ricky ($30 for kids). The picture of Oliver and I with Ricky cost $35 at Adirondack Speedway. The same picture at Lime Rock Park would be $130. Something dosen't add up.

Cameron Oliver and I went to camp this weekend. Paul and Cyndy were there to. We visited with Mom and Dad. The Govenor was busy most of the weekend didn't see him much till today. Saturday Dad, Paul, Oliver and I went to Adirondack Speedway in New Bremen for a woodchuck festival and got to see a good race too. we saw the Edge Hotel 150 of the NASCAR East series. Below are photos of Oliver and I with Ricky Carmichael. Oliver asking why Steve Park's steering wheel was off. He was very concerened about this. The race was very good. There is also a win shot. Matt Kobyluck(40) won, Trevor Bane(1)second, and Austin Dillion(3) third. Race will be on Speed channel in a few weeks.
Sunday Oliver and I rode the kayak with Oliver. Then we went for a boat ride and saw a Bald Eagle fly over us, very close to us. It was really neat to see one so close.
Today on the way home we stopped at the UHRR in North Creek. They were switching some cars with the RS-1 and we watched for a minute. The engineer stopped and came over to us. He said "We are closed today for train rides, but if you'd like you can come up in the engine." Oliver was OK with that. It made his day. Cameron liked it too.

The San Francisco Chronicle had a piece on how vegetable gardening has become trendy ("Grow your own vegetables--all the cool people are doing it"). Evidence of the hipness of gardening included, "Even such megastars as NASCAR driver Jimmy Spencer... are into gardening."

I haven't been following NASCAR for a while, but I am left wondering when Jimmy Spencer became a "megastar".

The hummingbirds are out of control. They are emptying the feeder twice a day and fighting over it. Sometimes as many as 4 at a time are trying to get to it at once. It gets ugly.

Ricky Carmichael and Steve Park are on the entry list for the Edge Hotel 150 this weekend. No T-Mac. I don't see how he can't a one race ride for this?
I read a list of the most stolen cars last year, #1 was the 1995 Honda Civic, #6 was the 1994 Acura Integra. Paul are cars locked?

The whole family went on a picnic with some of the old gang from high school. We went to Saratoga State Park. Nobody drank the water. Niskayuna gradates in the photo are. Aaron Hull, Marc Colosimo, Chris Rooney, Scott Price, Michelle Lortie (Leader) and Shannon Gray (Barney), and Jim Flanders. It rained some but still had fun. All the kids probably had more fun than us.

Here is a picture of the basement after painting the walls and putting down the new flooring. Most of the floor is done. There are a few edges and oddball cuts to make.

Apparently paul is very sad.

On the way to the grid walk they accidently let a bunch of people behind the pit wall. Corvette may have no competition in GT2 but they are winning overall in pit box setup.

Here is a photo from the Авто-Ретро Питер ("Auto Retro Club of St. Petersburg", brought to my attention by "Pop! and Circumstance"). You will need to try various links on their website to see pictures from their various outings.

Happy Birthday, Christine!

I couldn't remember the last time we were in Friendship. Everything appears outwardly just as I recall. Some other resort destinations in Maine could learn a few things.

The Friendship Scoop (it was still early in the morning, so it wasn't open yet):
