My birthday present from Rachel arrived. It is a messenger bag made of waterproof truck tarps. Unique, simple, durable, and no zippers to blow out. It's made by Freitag in Switzerland. Maybe Tough Traveler could do something like this.

Oriol Servia on provisional pole at Surfer's Paradise. After being kicked out of the #7 Forsyth for the more Mexican, David Martinez, he was hired to replace Tristan Gummybear(who?) at PKV.



Team Australia is looking to add a third car for Katherine Legge next year. RuSport, if is existed this year anyway, is gone. Sierra Sierra hired Dane Cameron(Star Mazda champ) for the #9 Atlantic car. Next years schedule looks like it will have a lot of international stuff.

IRL news: Milka Duno back for '08.

I had my final autocross event for 2007 this sunday. Here are some great pictures Emerson took. I finished 6th out of 11 cars in the overall season points. I guess that is OK for the first year doing this.

We thought we might get our 1st snow today, but no luck. About 10 the temperature was dropping (to 36) and the wind was blowing big swirls of fog around- it looked very dramatic.

Dad got a muzzleloader and is going out with Jim Fox tomorrow.

Time to think about planning for the rolex 24, January 26, 2008. Thoughts?

Happy Birthday Donnie

Yesterday we went to the Dreamcrafters Quilt Shop in Akwesasne, NY. We bought gas there too. The Akwesasne are the Iroquois Indains on the St Regis Indain Reservation. It includes NYS and Canada and is east of Massena. There is a sign that says "This is Indain land not NYS land". They even have their own police force.

After the Indains we went to Birch Bark Books a large used book store in the country near Potsdam. Mom loved it and wants to go back. Then we went on to dinner in Sackets Harbor.

Dad

Jonathan has a small fracture from where the tendon pulled on the bone as he twisted his ankle. No soccer this week even with the new ankle brace. The aircast barely slows him down too.

Chris

Jonathan broke his ankle playing soccer. He has an aircast and is getting around very well. On another note, he started a rubber band ball "like Paul's" when we were in Maine recently. He needs many more.

For people that have some time on their hands and high speed internet, Berkeley now has a youtube channel with course lectures. The selection is still a little thin, but it might be something worth checking once in a while. See: youtube.com/ucberkeley.

Sadly, and as you have probably heard by now, Irene Prazak has died. The obituary is on the Times Union website.
