progress update

In the past 2 weeks we added an air-to-oil cooler from a 944 Turbo model, new brake pads, and new wheels/tires. Last night I tested the car in SCCA's Track Night in America (highly recommend their events) to bed the brake pads and scuff the tires. Ran a best lap of 1:44 with a 103 mph top speed. By comparison, I ran a 1:40 with a 122 mph top speed in the subaru at that track back in May. The porsche handling balance is better, but the 100 hp advantage makes a difference.

It came to my attention last week that some members of the family are not familiar with Frederic Bastiat's "Candle Makers' Petition", presented to the French Parliament in 1845 as a satirical critique of protectionist policies and occupational licensing generally.
