Dad and I have been reading Clarence Thomas's memoir, "My Grandfather's Son". It is not some slick ghostwritten bore- no, he wrote it himself as a simple story of his life. He was raised by his grandfather, who had a fuel oil business and tells of having to help on the truck when he didn't have school. When he tells of pulling that hose in the cold, I'm sure all of you boys would identify.

Scott Sharp and Patron Tequila sued Rahal Letterman Racing because of the team's poor performance(he finished 8th in points). RLR counter-sued for breach of contract. He and Patron both had contracts with RLR for 2008. A few months ago it was rumored that he wanted to start his own team in ALMS. It is also possible that he is starting/buying into an IRL team(possible part of Sarah Fisher's new team or Panther or Foyt). It all looks bad for Rahal. I think they should all get sued because their cars are so ugly.
Champ Car is trying to add Donington (England) to the 2008 schedule for the fall. Rocketsports and Dale Coyne have both been in action this week, each testing a Brazilian. That's right, Dale Coyne actually doing preseason testing.
Kevin Kalhoven (CC series owner won a civil case against him for securities fraud, he sold $500 million dollars of JDS Uniphase stock while CEO before he resigned.) A year after he resigned the stock tanked. Had he lost that case, it could have had ill effects on Champ Car's existence beyond 2008.
Murphy the Bear is trying a second attempt at an open wheel merger rumor.

I'm pretty sure Paul Tracy won Dancing with the Stars.
Discovery Asia was at work Monday-Wednesday this week. I spent a couple hours being filmed for some non speaking parts today. It was pretty funny. The crew was English, not Asian. Cyndy was mad that I didn't tell her ahead of time because she would've rather been the one to dress me.
I told Joel, when this whole Alonso meltdown happened around the end of August that he would either be at Mclaren or nowhere next season. I still stand by that. Ferrari has no room, Red Bull and Renault wanted 3 and 5 year deals respectively and Alonso wanted 1 year. Telefonica was to help fund the Renault deal and they have pulled it so far off the table that they said, they won't be back in F1 anytime soon. So, it's either Force India, or Aguri. Newman Haas has been very quite about their empty seat this year...
Champ Car is having a race in Spain.
Good weekend at camp. I have no pictures but my computer told me that Emily does.

Pie dough is good. Not a trivial amount of vodka.
Rumor is that Dan Petit is buying into Forsyth and bringing Justin Wilson (and probably CDW) RuSport is dead. This leaves the Newman Haas seat wide open.
Timo Glock confirmed at Toyota.
European papers say, Fernando Alonso has an agreement with Ferrari for '09 and is trying to get a one year deal at Renault. Flavio wants to take him, but Carlos Ghosn(Renault CEO) wants a three commitment.
Since Auberlen is in at Alex Job it seems that would mean that Patrick Long will take Briscoe's seat at Penske.
Mont Tremblant is that last weekend in June so...

The exploratorium is moving.

November Test Days entry list
Also, Briscoe taking Hornish's seat. Mansell brothers to Walker Racing Atlantic. Britain's Defense Minister quit to race a GT2 Aston in ALMS (purpose built GT2 Vantage V8, not DBR9s). Looks like Wilson is 50/50 to take CDW(PG almost killed that, but they still really like Justin) to Newman Haas or Forsyth. Hopefully, PKV doesn't pull another Gummy Bear and signs Servia.

I've been feeling sick for the last week the the symptoms of a mild cold, but I think it is really caused by the "bad air" of the bay in the winter (lots of particulate matter). Rachel turned 28 yesterday. Her brother just got back from working on a sheep dairy on an island in Finland for the past three months.

The new Keeler Smart dealership is going to be the old Clark Music building converted. They have been working on it for a couple of days.
The new restaurant behind Peter Harris is Ed Kosek's old house and garage which are both still standing.
The new office building being built between CHP and Pizza Hut has most of the girder work complete.
There is mucho activity at the Getty. It looks like it should open in the next few weeks. Maybe Paul can get some action shots.
Kate and I voted today. We both voted for water for the resident's of Raquette Lake. Which means the left would say we voted for global warming and against enviormental issues.
The Town of Niskayuna elections were all very close. Almost 51/49 in all races with the Dems winning all. Jim Buhrmaster and Bob Farley are in Schenectady Co. legislature. Brian Stratton is still mayor of the city that used to power and move the world.
Elliott Spitzer just gave GE $5 million dollars to create 500 new jobs in Schenectady. It didn't take long for him to come around like the rest.
Chris, Christine, Jonathan and Megan came and visited this past weekend. Jonathan Oliver and I went to see Union Vs. Yale hockey saturday night. They ended in a tie, but we still had fun. Union' next home game is Vs. Northeastern Dec. 8th (Paul.
I think that is it for now.

While the TGIF is exciting (for when you're tired of Ruby Tuesday's or Chili's, if that's even possible), the last item for Keeler is most exciting.

Also a restaurant going on Old Niskayuna Rd behind Peter Harris.

With all our company in the last few days, I didn't get to the computer to post birthdays, so, belatedly
Happy birthday to Sophie on the 3rd and to Tracy on the 5th.
Marion's annual wine dinner on Saturday night was a big success and lots of fun.
Cook's Illustrated has updated their "foolproof pie dough" recipe and I can atest to it's excellence. Honest, you can't taste the vodka.

I went to Bishop, CA for a conference.
The place I stayed was pretty clean.
This is where water is diverted from the Owen's River to the LA aqueduct to suppy 30 to 80% of the drinking water for the City of Los Angeles. This is the first year since 1913 that water has been allowed to continue past the structure and flow down the Lower Owen's River (where the coots are) instead of directly to LA--and not because LADWP wanted to.
Looking south, down at the Owen's Lake playa, with the Sierra's on the right, the White Mountains on the left and mojave desert shrubland in the middle.

Sigalsport sold to Fortune Markets, Gene Sigal still runs the team and will be one of the drivers. Assume that to mean Matthew Alhadef will be taking in check elsewhere and an Auberlen type driver in the other seat.
