Because of visitor/travel commitments I am bunching together some birthdays.
Happy birthday to Noah on May 27th.
Happy birthday to Jonathan on June 5th.
The question to ponder- is it more fun to be 35 or 9?

Does everyone know there is a movie being made in Grandpa's front yard in Jake's Corners? Some of us are getting photos of the production. If you click on the J K photo at right you will see the movie website. There are some interesting people in the movie- a well known basketball player and for the over 40- or 50 crowd, the singer B J Thomas. Exciting doings- you know Grandpa won't be visiting until this is finished.

Here are some pictures of a T2 EVO. It is an '06 Evolution MR. The modifications include roll cage, racing seat, tow hooks, and battery cut off. Everything else is stock including, carpets, backseats, engine, etc. He was running 245/45 Azenis-615's on stock '05 EVO wheels. On their truck there was another set of the same wheels/tires. The sidewall was higher than the 235/45's. The driver was Charles Keane from Boston, MA.

On saturday we went to Lime Rock for the SCCA regional races. It was cold and rainy the whole time. Not much fun for watching races. There were some good races though We were surprised to see Paul Newman there racing an old Trans-Am Corvette in the GT1 class. This class is mainly a place for old Trans-Am cars to race. He finished 2nd in a fifteen lap race even with spinning the car once in the esses. Remember it was raining so there were a lot of cars sliding around. Lots of neat cars that you don't usually see racing.

My pics for this week are as follows.
P1- #1 Audi
P2- #7 Porsche
GT2- #31 Ferrari
DP- #05 BMW Riley?
GT- #66 Porsche
Hopefully all the ALMS cars that are possibles for Lime Rock show up. It would make for a great field of cars.
Chris, I believe we have a hairy woodpecker in the yard. I read the description of the Downy and Hairy. It is larger than the ones we usually see.
Mom, If you want to get me something for my birthday I would like the Petersen field guide to birds or mammals. They would be fun for the kids.
For those people that are not local the Bowler's Club has closed. There is an Afgan resturaunt in Peter Harris plaza now. Used to be a pizza place. I'm guessing Baboo took some bad advice.

In the ALMS, there is the suggestion that the GT1 Class could see a pair of Konrad Saleens and a Fredy Lienhard-owned Maserati MC12 racing later this year.
Konrad’s plan might see him run a pair of Saleens from Lime Rock onwards, with a top driver pairing in one car, but a supply of tyres is the stumbling block.
Kevin Doran would enter Lienhard’s Maserati MC12, for the owner and Didier Theys. A test is likely soon, and Theys suggests that the car will be entered in a couple of races “if we are competitive”.

Saturday we went to the Albany tulip festival. The weather was perfect and it was very crowded. They had Joan Jett as the headlining band. She and her band were very good. The kids got a $7.00 bag of popcorn. We also went swimming at the Niskayuna high school pool. Sunday we played tennis at Iroquois and had a picnic.

Here is a photo with my EVO with the magnetic letters I made for it. The grassroots sticker is magnetic as well. I would like to see some update photos of the realtime civic. The times for the first autocross this year are up at mohud-scca.org click on solo then first event. The first three runs were on a damp track. The last two were in steady rain with puddles on the track. Overall I'm happy with the results. There are still a couple of cars I should be beating. WRX's are the 5.0 Mustang of this decade.
Oliver is waiting for that all important first cup of coffee in the morning.
The new Creation CA07 unveiled last night. Luckily, it's being run in LMES so we don't have to see it. It's there take on BMW's art cars, they call it the "Children of LeMans."
33 cars for Indy confirmed today with the addition of John Andretti at Panther and Roger Yawkasamatsuzaka. I can't imagine they would try any bumping because that would mean the exclusion of Milka Duno, assuming she dosn't trash her car again this week.
Cytosport won't make another try until about July at Mid Ohio. Autocon has it's new Creation. No word on when Velocity motorsports will put it's Lola (last years dyson) in a race. The Panozi are getting a larger air restrictor for this weekend. Enge will be back with PWL.
Grand Am split races at Laguna with only 19 DPs.
Expect Champ Car in England (Brands Hatch or Silverstone) in 2008 with another race in France or Germany. That means two European trips with two back to back races each, one about now the other in September. Still waiting on an official date for China this year. Expect Octoberish.

These are photos showing the front and rear tire wear for each respective side of the car. It appears that Noah's tire wear symptoms have plagued my car as well but the wear was not noticed until after my suspension modification, between 5000 to 9000 miles. After noticing the wear I switched the fronts and rears.

It is now summer in Stillwater. Yesterday I went for my 1st boat ride of the season and we were only 30 feet from the dock before there was an uproar from the captain. Last night half the guests at our "Cinco de Mayo" party ate on the screened in porch. And today, Peter(aka, the captain) put up the hummingbird feeders for the season and the hummingbirds came to dine within 30 minutes.

A 1960 Ford Falcon has a terminal velocity of 1024.056mph. It would have to begin it's dive from 6.6 miles and maintain a path normal to the ground. If it doesn't the terminal velocity is 75.5mph. With the car vertical it would take 1626ft to reach 220mph. It takes the Peregrine Falcon about 1000ft to reach 220mph and it has a terminal velocity of 250mph(I didn't do the calculations for the bird).

Monday May 28th Lime Rock is having Rolex GT, Koni GT, and Speed GT all on the same day. $35 in advance. Seems like there will be a lot of good cars and drivers there that day. Mo-Hud regional races are Saturday May 19th at Lime Rock $10 in advance. Kate only wants me to go to one event this summer. I want to go to ALMS. I will have to talk her in the memorial day race.
Hannaford has a promotion going: Buy three specially marked Hannaford brand cereals and get a $5 Citgo gas card. I want Chris and Jonathan to organize the protest in front of Hannaford headquarters. Paul will give you suggestions for signs.
Fidel Castro says it is unethical for the USA to make fuel from food (corn). He wants us to stop using ethanol so there isn't a world food shortage.
